Twitter yesterday announced the most re-tweeted tweets of the year 2012 with Barach Obama’s tweet Four More Years on the top.

With 810,000+ RTs, the tweet – Four More Years – by the US President Barack Obama (@BarackObama) became the most retweeted tweet in the history of, ever. With over 300,000+ favourites the tweet was RTed by people from more than 200 countries. Obama tweeted “Four More Years” before coming on the stage to affirm his victory in the US 2012 Presidential Elections.
Justin Bieber
Bieber () fans loved it when he tweeted “RIP Avalanna. i love you.” The tweet got some 220,000+ RTs and 100,000 favourites. 6 years old Avalanna was suffering from a rare form of brain cancer and passed away in September. She was a big Bieber fan and grew closer to him during the illness. Bieber paid the much required tribute to her in this tweet which was wholeheartedly RTed by his fans.
TJ Lang
TJ Lang, NFL player from the team Green Bay Packers, tweeted his frustration “Fuck it NFL.. Fine me and use the money to pay the regular refs” after the now-infamous final play was called by a replacement referee due to a labor standoff with the referees union. The tweet got 98,000+ RTs and 28,000+ favourites. Over 1+ million tweets were sent by players but Lang’s tweet broke records.
